With this update, Google improves the security in the area of data analytics on its cloud platform. BigQuery and Data Studio administrators and users can now use service accounts to authenticate themselves.

Use a Google Cloud service account for data access

Google Cloud and Workspace users can now use service account credentials to access BigQuery data in Data Studio. Using a service account provides a number of benefits, such as ensuring that data access isn’t tied to a particular user, so data sources continue to work even if the person who created the data source leaves your organization. — Google [1]

The How To

Note that this applies to companies that have cloud or workspace users. So I could not test the feature for you yet, but it is also a feature that makes more sense in a company context. Google provides here a pretty good documentation:
